Louis Armstrong is most highly noted with the introduction of jazz into American culture outside of New Orleans, making it a socially acceptable form of music. He set new standards with his skills on the trumpet. He was one of the first artists to record scat singing and his voice was one of the most recognizable in the 20th century.
