Emily Dickinson was born in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1830. She attended Amherst Academy for 7 years. Her first published selection of work was Poems in 1890. Despite being practically unknown in her lifetime, she has come to be regarded as one of the greatest American poets of the 19th century. Head comes off to reveal a secret treasure box.
